Benjie, the cab driver ( part I )

A normal working day is coming to an end and then a meaningful encounter with a man named Benjie will cut you off in the chase of time.

I boarded a taxi on my way home and a grey haired old man with thick eyeglasses and what seems to me a weary and tired smile welcomed me as I entered the cab. A few minutes on the road and we're caught-up in a heavy traffic. The man rested his head on his window seat and uttered how unbearable it is being caught in a still.

I cannot exactly recall how it all begun, how Benjie narrated to me the poignant story of his life, not as a cab driver but as a father in desperate bid to carry on with his heavy laiden life. This may be another story to tell but it's gift of inspiration, a momentary push to look back and reflect at our own lives and realize how fortunate we already are and drive you to carry-on with a life full of gratitude.

dear old house cat

in our household, we have 4 dogs and two cats. Of the latter, one of which is now fighting for it's own dear life. Poor old cat has been with us for 7-8 years or so, a geriartric cat so to say. Amos as we call her, is sick and frail now, seldom moves, seldom eats, seldom meows.. The rest of our pets are all steady and full of vigor, and dear Amos is the oldie. As I have to let out free in the yard our lab dog this morning to relieve itself of course, I have to safekeep dear Amos is a higher place where she can't be wrestled and tumbled by our dogs. I lifted her frail body and sensed this suffering she's undergoing. I felt sad and sorry for her. I wish I can somehow help alleviate her suffering. We dont believe in euthanasia, but I can't stand her weak state! I haven't been back to check her out again, but I believe she might be still there sitting still in the table! What to do, what to do for such poor cat? my lola ( grandmother) is specially fond of her because she's the sweetest and nicest of the two cats we have. I guess, I'll have to wait for her to finally let go.. and from there we can start remembering her with a smile in our hearts from all the wonders she did for the household.

How it all begun

I have been reading alot about blogging nowadays. After a few months of more than too amusing surfing online, jumping from one blog to another, I am also now a soon-to-be-hooked blogger! And thanks so much I found this site! I felt I was given a free lease on a front row seat on a rollercoaster to see (and be seen too, of course) the many wonders of this world. I named my blog 'the diary of a trapped girl ' to chronicle and to share to everyone my thoughts, my adventures and misadventures in life, my mission to chase a dream that is never a light year away in this inch by inch journey to conquer my own world.
