Espresso Surprise

I joined Espresso Stories a few years back on a very plain interest to read and learn about this new form of literature- as the founders put it, Espresso Stories are tales you can swallow in a single gulp. The rules are simple, write a story in a sentence or two, sum it up in 25 words or even less.

All entries submitted will be reviewed and approved by the editor-founders themselves. If your entry gets posted, then your literary work may have just met their very discerning taste.

I haven't been submitting entries for a very long time now, and I thought I'd check the site. To my surprise, one of my entries made it to the top 100 stories. What's even more surprising is, it is on the 6th place.

I must say, all the entries I submitted there stemmed from personal experiences. Everything I wrote and submitted is a piece of me.

Here's the entry that made the list. It is an ode to words never said, never sent. An ode to goodbye.

Let this be the Last

Let this be the last letter I'll write for you.
The last of all the unopened ones I never sent.
