A quick note

I've been listening to a lot of Angus and Julia and indie folk lately, add in Boy's Drive Darling as my current anthem. Lunch is always quiet- alone and on my desk but not lonely. I buy sandwich at Country Style and I go back to my desk, eat and listen to new songs, old songs, familiar songs and even poetry from Il postino. I am productive, in an average pace but I could have done more if I am not too distracted. I am eluding people to elucidate my mind and senses. Good thing my very kindred and stirred seatmate is not around today, I get distracted by her lack of work-related activity transgressing beside me while i work. I am not done with my presentation yet but I know I will cram and finish it soon. I have the basics laid down already, i have pictured in my head how to present it. No flare, just straight facts and plans.

I adore that elephant sketch you sent me, now I wish that I can seriously sketch and not just doodle things.

I like memories of my old friend by Angus and Julia Stone. Yes. I like them.

Engulf yourself, your senses with the the flame and passion that reignited the happyness in your heart. Keep it alive.

It is not the summit, it is the climb.

Alright, I took this photo at the Ranger stn before the ascent. Must be a precursor of what was about to unfold. To sum it up, the weather was very wet and extremely cold, we made it to the base camp, which is just a few more hundred metres from the peak, let's say an hour and half away. The biting cold, the unrelenting rains, and wind chill that can send your eyelids to a freeze plus the zero visibility on the top all factored in for the team to decide to head back down.

I guess this 2nd attempt to see the sea of clouds and majestic-beyond-words sunrise in the summit of Mt. Pulag will have to wait. I was not disappointed, not at all, I take it that the mountain wants me to come back, some other time when she is in a good mood. Just like what this photo is about- it is not the summit, it is the climb.

The experience of climbing Pulag is worth every repeat. The people you meet; the birds you see and hear; the thick vegetation: those trees, shrubs and wild plants and flowers; the water springs and the muddy beautiful earth, the very air you breathe in Mt. Pulag albeit thin and seemingly elusive, are all worth for a return.

Until I see you again.

Trust rekindle values.

Last night, as I walk my dog, I noticed a young school girl struggling to cross the road. I was there with Scoutie, my dog, watching cars and basically observing the traffic and the crowd. After several failed attempts, I realized this little girl's trepidation and decided to give her a quick look and gesture if she wants me to help her out.

Without hesitation, this girl came up to me and held my right hand so tightly I felt her relief flow through my hand. With my dog scoutie on my left, and this trusting girl on my right, we all crossed the car crazy road.

On those few seconds that I held this little girl's hand, It was me who felt saved. I released her hand and the most touching part of this God-knows-what beautiful encounter was her short but very touching parting words: " Salamat, ate!! ".
