10 Random Things
Here it goes, 10 random things about the author of this blog..
1. I like the smell of Clorox. It is the smell of cleanliness, purity and lightness. Next to Clorox is the scent of alcohol, not liquor (although it might be a candidate) but rubbing/ isopropyl alcohol, again for same reasons.
2. Randomness (in thoughts and deeds) is also a characteristic of mine; a justice to which is this random insight on animal hoarding: May I kindly say that AH can be attributed to a certain level of psychological disruption; perhaps severe depression. An animal hoarder could have an impaired rational, an absolute withdrawn sense of reality, simply because such action alters the norms of an everyday environment. It is quite odd to house, let’s say 30 cats, 25 dogs and a rapidly growing number of its litter in your home, isn’t?
3. In conjunction to #2, please don’t get the impression that I hate animals. No, no, no, I definitely don’t. I LOVE ANIMALS WITH ALL MY HEART. As a matter of fact, I’ve always dreamed of becoming an animal doctor and I still do. I would like to hope that at some certain point in my life, I will be able to live this dream.
4. As much as I love watching movies, I also immerse myself in watching.. uhmm, quite sensible stuff on TV. I love learning so to say. Let’s just say that sometimes I prefer watching Animal Planet or NatGeo or CNN or Living Asia over Wowowee and Dyesebel. I said prefer, so I am not completely dismissing the latter. =)
5. I am very much of a light sleeper. Sometimes I can’t sleep at all and so I make it up by dozing off in the afty; power naps and siestas.
6. I didn’t know how to read not until the summer of my grade school year 1987-88. I was almost 8 years old then. My teacher accidentally discovered it by making me read my homework of which, I copied from my classmate. After that, I was sent into an after-school class to learn reading. And the moment the wonder of being able to grasp meaning beyond the visuals dawned on me, I have never stopped reading since. Reading is one of my few sources of learning and amusement.
7. I love walking. I love to wander and I am never afraid to get lost. Going out on trips is one of my indulgence and I only go on trips when I can afford to, I save up for it. And whether I walk amongst the throng of people in the city or commune with nature in the countryside, there is always a moment of awe in each facet of life in this world so whenever possible I make it a point that… (Leads to #8)
8. I always bring a camera with me. There are moments that you can only chance upon once in your lifetime; like a uniquely exceptional plum-colored ray of the sun in the afternoon when it is almost nearly invisible in the horizon.
9. I am in my most sublime when I am alone. I do not exactly fare fine in conferring openly in a group, may it be with a sole companion. I tend to be passive in a conversation and especially passive in an argument. I’d rather ponder things on my own, and please do not connote egocentricity in it, there’s an underlying confidence issue. =) Honestly, when I think, I don’t think for myself, the great ideas generated in my alone times are seldom meant for my part.
10. If I can readily donate one of my faculties to someone more deserving and needy than I am, that would be my ability and freedom to speak. For quite some time the thought of making a vow of silence has been in and out of my mind. Just like Meryl Streep’s character in the movie House of Spirits. So don’t be surprised if one of these days I just stop talking it will not necessarily equate to ceasing all means of communications. I can still write letters and there’s texting and sign language too.. or maybe not.
