seven years
a poem for the yearning heart..
when i was 17 i fell inlove
a love so young, so sweet and so beautiful
as tender as the clouds in your hands
as light as the wind blowing in the prairie
but no love is perfect as the rising sun
because sometimes there will be no light at all
no hand to hold,
no air to breathe.
and so you wait
you wait, you hope and you pray for 7 years
and God answers and gives you a gift..
a chance to face your love again
a final touch and kiss to blow
a last tight embrace
then you have to let go.
i have set my heart free
and i have let my love go.
let the wind carry me now
let the rain wash me through
let the brightness of the new day open my eyes
and finally free myself true.
